There was a party in the playground on Friday 12th May, as author and ‘I’m a Celebrity’ former contestant, Nadine Dorries, opened the school’s new play equipment. Funded through the Big Lottery and local donations, the exciting new equipment has transformed the playground into an adventure paradise for all the children.
The children were delighted with the new equipment, which has been declared “more challenging than the old play equipment”. “I really like that we have an obstacle course”, said Kacie (year 4) and Charlie (also year 4) likes the dangling ropes and the climbing frame.
After cutting the ribbon to open the playground, Mrs Dorries braved a lively question time with the children, where they discovered that she has written no fewer than seven books, that she likes to write from her bed and that she certainly would not like to be Prime Minister. Year One were disappointed, however, to learn that she has not been into space!
